Student kills two professors during computer class

   HERAKLION, Greece, Nov 28 (AFP) - A 32-year-old Greek student wielding a
rifle opened fire on participants in a computer seminar at the University of
Crete here Tuesday, killing two professors.
Two students and a third professor were seriously wounded in the attack.
Police said George Petrodaskalakis, 32, left a seminar on computers for
students with physics degrees from the university, returning a few minutes
later with a rifle.
He opened fire first on two professors, and then turned his weapon
on the class. Vassilis Xanthopoulos, dean of the physics faculty, and
a second teacher died instantly, police said.
A eyewitness said the assailant, who was completing his military service,
had obtained special permission to attend the seminar.
The motive for the attack was not clear, but there were rumours that the
attacker had just been told his grades were not sufficient for him to
specialize in computer science.
