You might be interested in a story in a recent
Isaac Asimov's SF Magazine: it was set in the world
of the tabloids. I think it's the December issue;
the title's something like "Aliens Saved My Marriage."
It features (of course): vampires (note this handy
home defense--whole milk dissolves them, but not that
2% stuff), aliens, Elvis, Elvis's twin, grandmother
gives birth, bigfoot, giant meteors, returning from
the dead, and I forget all what else.
