From Page 1 of the 12/18/90 Journal & Courier:

"Tennessee Highway Toll Lowered to 12"

	...

Investigators initially reported that 15 people died in the
Dec. 11 crash on a fogbound stretch of Interstate 75, about
40 miles northeast of Chattanooga. The next day they lowered
the number of fatalities to 13, saying the scattered condition
of the body parts caused them to count some victims twice.

The same confusion accounted for the latest discrepancy, said
Dr. Iris Snider, assistant McMinn Count medical examiner.
