Pronunciation: Brit. /pəʊˈɡɒnɪk/, U.S. /poʊˈɡɑnɪk/
Etymology: < ancient Greek πώγων beard (see pogonology n.) + -ic suffix.
R. G. Mayne (see quot. 1858) gives also a Latin form pogonicus.

Of or relating to a beard.

1966 J. S. Cox Illustr. Dict. Hairdressing 119/1 Pogonic, pertaining
