   80 columns tend to get broken into two or more lines...

   TinyURL (http://tinyurl.com) is your friend.

I agree it can be a PITA reassembling broken URLS and TinyURLs are a
great solution for thar problem.  But if people start providing them,
please include the original long URL too.  Even if it's mangled, it's
nice to know what direction we're headed in when we dive into the web.
