Re: Hmmmm

I hear the sound after playing on a variety of equipment (NHT 2.9 main speakers, and some JBL bookshelf speakers). It's annoying no matter how you slice it.

That said, I will admit that I've always been able to hear very high pitched sounds. I can still hear some kinds of light bulbs before they're about to go out. They make a similar sound!

Hmm, indeed. I played it on my phone (HTC Typhoon branded as Orange C500), and heard a fairly raspy buzzing sound, with the odd burst of static. I played it on my laptop's speakers (Dell Inspiron 8600), and heard nothing, ever at max volume. Then I plugged in my portable stereo headphones (Sennheiser PX100s), and heard a high-pitched sound that practically made my eyes water.

So, it seems like, for different reasons, neither my laptop nor phone speakers are up
to the job of playing this sound, but given decent headphones, I can still hear it.

So perhaps you can blame your external audio equipment. :-)
